1. Waltham Islamic Society Looking to Loans For Renovations
Waltham Islamic Society purchased a property on Moody St. in Waltham, MA for a total amount of $515k (amount paid in full) and started construction last year with an estimated construction amount of $700k. The progress is going pretty great and we are estimating to finish the construction in less than 7 weeks. The committee is short of around $250k and we are requesting you to be part of fulfilling the dream of building a mosque in Waltham started by few brothers around 15 years ago by donating or through loan. Due to time crunch the board decided to use “loan strategy” to pay of the contractor bills. Amount will be repaid back in 1 year, 2 year or on the agreed duration. So far, in less than a week we were able to raise $75k from local members and we are looking for remaining $175k.We will greatly appreciate if anyone is interested in loaning whatever amount they can, logistics/paper work will be done between the donar and shura board. 2. Islamic Center of Burlington Looking for New Imam
The Islamic Center of Burlington based in Burlington, MA is looking for a new Imam, as the current imam is leaving. The Center is located on 5 acres of land with a 10,000 sq. ft building. The ethnic composition of the local community is mostly comprised on hanafi indo/pak/bangla. The Jumuah salat congregation is around 500 people. The qualifications of the Imam is that he must be a Mufti or Aalim and Hafiz of Quran, strong communication skills in English and also strong grasp of the Arabic language, and able to speak in Urdu.
