1. Servant-Leadership Training for Muslim High Schoolers
The Malcolm X Community Servants Corps (MCSC) Fellowship will empower high schoolers to cultivate spiritually intelligent and ethically principled hearts and to become effective agents for social change. Selection of 10 participants for the fellowship will be carefully done after a review of applications by a committee. Participants are expected to take full advantage of the 16 workshops (2 Sundays per month) and will be mentored over the course of the fellowship to design a community service project. Workshop content will focus on four primary areas: core knowledge for young Muslims, servant-leadership skills (time management, public speaking, etc), critical thinking skills (race, marriage, environment, justice, secularism) and self-development in character and worship. This event is targeted at non-Muslims, not the Muslim folks. However any Muslims who wish to attend should do so and make friends and talk with the non-Muslims. There are two seminars about Terrorism & Shari’ah – one at 1:30 pm, one at 3:00 pm. Visitors may observe the salah during Asr timeframe. Seating will be set up for the visitors, insha Allah. Your interfaith contacts are welcome as well as anyone who is fearful of Muslims. We are here to change their perspective insha Allah. Media and city/state officials are also invited.
