2. Month of Rabiul Awwal – started on Thursday, Dec 1
The crescent moon to commence the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1438 AH was looked for after the sunset on Tuesday, 29th November 2016.  Reports from all Sub Committees of CHC, both local and regional, have unanimously confirmed that the moon was NOT SIGHTED. The Central Hilal Committee of North America has accepted these reports and has declared, that the month of Safar 1438 AH will complete it’s 30 days, thus making Thursday, December 1st, 2016, the 1st day of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1438 AH. Posted by the Central Hilal Committee of North America (CHC), Web: www.HilalCommittee.org

Our potential Imam candidate, Mufti Saeed Bulhan will be giving a talk on this topic. He is a young scholar from Australia who has spent over 10 years studying the sacred sciences. Specializing in the fields of Jurisprudence and Hadith, Mufti Saeed has studied under several reputable scholars in South Africa and India and taken several Ijazaat in Hadith and Qur’an. With a secular background in the formal physical and medical sciences, he has a unique and interesting outlook. This will be a great opportunity for the youth in Greater Worcester to meet a young scholar visiting us from Australia and exchange perspectives, insha Allah.
