1. ICNE-Sharon Welcomes Its New Imam
The new Imam confirmed at ICNE Sharon is Sheikh Abdur Rahman Ahmadi who will be starting his services at the masjid on Sept 1, 2015. The community welcomes the Sheikh, his wife and 2 children. He was born in 1977 in Lackawanna, NY, both his parents converted to Islam in the early 70s. He started his Hifz of Quran in the Masjid Al-Haram and other places as well. He also studied to be an Alim of Islamic Sciences at the Jamiat Uloomul Islamia in Karachi. His specialization is in Hadith and he graduated in 2000. He currently serves as the Imam of Masjid As-Saffat in Trenton, NJ.
2. Positions Open at Al-Noor Academy
Al-Noor Academy in Mansfield, MA has two positions seeking qualified candidates for fall 2015. The positions are Head of School/Administration and School Secretary/Administrative Assistant. Since its humble founding in 2000, Al-Noor has evolved into its present position as a respected, private 6-12 institution of Muslim faith and teaching. Al-Noor has in place an excellent, experienced and stable teaching faculty; follows the MA-approved frameworks; and is certified by the New England Association of Secondary Schools (NEASC). 3. ISNA Sends Well Wishes to President Carter
President Jimmy Carter announced he was diagnosed with cancer. In a statement he said “”Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that is now in other parts of my body.” The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) is saddened by the news and sends its prayers and well wishes to President Carter. We pray for ease and a quick recovery for President Carter. ISNA President Azhar Azeez said, “President Jimmy Carter has touched many lives around the world through his peace-building and humanitarian work. He had left a remarkable impression on us all during his visit as keynote speaker at our annual convention last year in Detroit. His speech left the audience mesmerized and inspired. ISNA sends its prayers and well wishes to President Carter.”

“Volunteers Needed at ISWM Sunday School”
The Islamic Society of Western Mass (ISWM) is looking for teachers, assistant teachers and staff volunteers for their Sunday School year 2015/2016. Prior experience a plus but not required. Registration will be followed by Professional Development. This will include training to provide you with some of the skills and techniques used for teaching and how to implement them using lesson plans. The orientation will last approximately two hours.
